Today in White Sox Baseball (March 30, 2025) — Get Some Knights to Chicago, ASAP!

Angels 3, Chicago White Sox 2
We were able to dream for … one day, before the Ghost of 2024 Past rose up to scare the pants off of us: Nine hits and two runs over two games, facing the, cough, Angels staff.

The good news here is that, again, signs of 2024 all over again, the White Sox rotation has been EXCELLENT. Caveat that these arms are facing the Angels, but it’s hard to argue with 17 scoreless innings to start the season, eh?

Davis Martin took the hard-luck no decision today, but at least he got to hit the showers before a three-hour rain delay took place.

Charlotte Knights 9, Gwinnett Stripers 6
For those of you familiar with Charlotte and Chicago White Sox system baseball over recent years, you’ll understand the excitement of the Knights positively ROLLING any other Triple-A team, much less one from the Atlanta Braves system. Charlotte took Gwinnett apart for a three-game sweep, led  by and offense that was BOSS and a pitching staff that did just enough to preserve victory.

Chase Meidroth clocked his first homer of the season and now sports a 1.072 OPS.

Kyle Teel had “just” one RBI today, as his average plummeted to .500 and OPS to 1.654. But the big bat today came from catcher Edgar Quero, with two knocks including a double. Quero, every bit the MLB future star that Teel appears to be, is just a hair behind his backstop counterpart now, hitting .455 with an 1.116 OPS.

Oh, and superutilityman Andre Lipcius, who absolutely has as shot to see South Side time this summer, led the way with two hits including a homer, and five RBIs.

Whew.
