Today in White Sox Baseball (April 10, 2025) — Swept again, naturally

The White Sox took another sweep on the chin, while the farm narrowly avoided same.

Cleveland Guardians 6, Chicago White Sox 1 Jonathan Cannon got crunched by two two-run homers and the punchless White Sox waved the flag early. It’s already getting tiresome detailing these losses every day.

Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp 8, Charlotte Knights 5 Nick Nastrini was better? But “better” being three runs/two earned) in five innings tells you just how lost he’s been in 2024 and 2025. And a pitcher who had no such issues in 2024 continues to struggle in 2025: Reliever Trey McGough, who gave up four runs. Andre Lipcius hit a three-run homer to get the Knights on the board, but the club is now back to .500 and threatening to zoom worse.

Birmingham Barons vs. Chattanooga Lookouts was postponed due to rain. The clubs will play a doubleheader on Saturday.

Greensboro Grasshoppers 4, Winston-Salem Dash 2 At least the Dash made it close, but ultimately another game was lost — this time in the late innings, with Carson Jacobs and Tommy Vail struggling.

Kannapolis Cannon Ballers 13, Lynchburg Hillcats 6 Kanny used some hot bats and exploited shoddy Hillcats defense to arrive at the classic 13-run finish. The CBs slapped 14 hits and kept traffic on the bases beyond that, with nine walks. Leadoff hitter Javier Mogollón had three hits, including his first homer of the season, while No. 9 hitter Jordan Sprinkle kept his incendiary start going with four safeties (he’s now hitting .545).
