WWE Smackdown: The Rock Announces WrestleMania 42 Is Coming to New Orleans

The Rock showed up on Smackdown last night and told the New Orleans fans that they are getting WrestleMania next year.

This year’s two-night event will be in Las Vegas, but Mania is coming to the Big Easy on April 11-12, 2026.

“The Final Boss” also talked in the ring with Cody Rhodes. Rocky said he didn’t want the WWE title, he wanted Cody to become “his champion,” whatever that means.

Rocky said he wanted Cody’s “soul,” so the fans chanted, “Sell your soul!”

Rhodes is supposed to give Rocky an answer at Elimination Chamber, if he can figure out what the question means.

MORE BLOODLINE TROUBLE

The Rock’s appearance pulled Rhodes out of the main event. Instead, Damien Priest teamed with Braun Strowman to defeat Jacob Fatu & Solo Sikoa.

Fatu accidentally superkicked Sikoa, so there may be more trouble brewing in the Samoan wrestling family.

Jimmy Uso started the show with an upset victory over Drew McIntyre. The angry “Scottish Warrior” gave Jimmy a Claymore Kick after the match.

STRANGE TEAMMATES

The Miz teamed up with Carmelo Hayes to defeat the equally unlikely team of LA Knight & R-Truth. Miz & Melo hit their finishers together on Truth for the victory.

Tiffany Stratton defeated Candice LeRae in a non-title match with the Prettiest Moonsault Ever.

Nia Jax attacked Tiffy after the match. Trish Stratus tried to make the save, but Nia wiped them both out with the Annihilator (Banzai Drop).

#DIY successfully defended the WWE tag team championship with a double disqualification against Pretty Deadly. The Street Profits attacked both teams and the intervening Motor City Machine Guns.
