WWE Smackdown in Spain: Street Profits Win Tag Team Championship
The Street Profits have been one of the top teams in WWE for several years, but they hadn’t won any gold since 2021.
That changed last night on Smackdown in Barcelona, Spain, when Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins defeated #DIY for the WWE tag team championship.
The Profits’ last title reign ended in 2021 when they lost the Smackdown tag team title to Bobby Roode & Dolph Ziggler.
This is their third championship reign on the main roster, as they also held the Raw tag team title.
Ford scored the pin after hitting his super-high frog splash from the top rope to pin Johnny Gargano.
START THE PARTY
WWE fired up the Barcelona crowd with a six-man opening tag team match. Braun Strowman, Jimmy Uso & LA Knight defeated Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu & Tama Tonga.
A post-match brawl set up another showdown between Strowman and Fatu.
Charlotte Flair defeated B-Fab, but then the Queen refused to release the Figure-Eight Leglock. Tiffany Stratton made the save and later dove off the video screen onto Charlotte.
A MAN OF FEW WORDS
Cody Rhodes was a guest on MizTV, but he quickly nailed The Miz with the Cross Rhodes. The WWE champion said he wants to talk to John Cena on Monday Night Raw in Belgium.
Damien Priest defeated Shinsuke Nakamura by disqualification when Drew McIntyre interfered.
Randy Orton beat Carmelo Hayes with the RKO and then gave him another one after the match.
SPAIN’S HOMETOWN BOY
Axiom, who holds one half of the NXT tag team champion, is the only current WWE wrestler from Spain. So he got a match with World champion Gunther.
After a valiant effort from the masked man, Gunther put him away after a pair of powerbombs.
