WWE Elimination Chamber Flashback: The First Pay-Per-View (2010)
The Elimination Chamber pay-per-view was such a big hit that it got its own pay-per-view in 2010.
This was inevitable after WWE presented two Chamber matches at No Way Out in 2008 and 2009.
The Chamber offered another pathway to a WrestleMania main event for wrestlers who didnât win the Royal Rumble.
SHEAMUS DEFENDS TITLE
Sheamus had surprised everyone by defeating John Cena in a tables match for the WWE title two months earlier. He started the match against Kofi Kingston.
Triple H emerged from his pod next, followed by Randy Orton, Ted DiBiase Jr., and John Cena. So all six men were in the Chamber before anyone was eliminated.
Cody Rhodes tried to help his Legacy teammates Orton and DiBiase by passing a steel pipe into the match. DiBiase accidentally hit Orton but went ahead and pinned him.
Kingston pinned DiBiase after a âTrouble in Paradiseâ kick, but then he was pinned by Sheamus.
Triple H pinned Sheamus after a Pedigree, ensuring a new champion. Cena forced HHH to submit to the STFU to win his eighth overall World title.
However, Vince McMahon forced the exhausted Cena to defend his title immediately. Batista wiped out Cena and captured the WWE championship.
SMACKDOWN CHAMBER
The Undertaker came into the main event with the World title, but he was temporarily sidelined when his pyrotechnics set him on fire.
CM Punk pinned R-Truth quickly and had time to finish his pre-match monologue.
Rey Mysterio pinned Punk, and he also had some time to spare before the next competitor emerged.
Chris Jericho and John Morrison were the next two foes. Morrison pinned Rey Jr. with the Starship Pain moonsault.
Undertaker was the final entrant. He pinned Morrison after a chokeslam on the steel Chamber floor.
Shawn Michaels somehow managed to enter the Chamber and blast Undertaker with the Sweet Chin Music superkick. Jericho pinned Taker to win the World title.
WRESTLEMANIA AFTERMATH
Cena recaptured the WWE title from Batista at WrestleMania XXVI. Jericho hung onto the World title by defeating Royal Rumble winner Edge.
The main event was the âstreak vs. careerâ between Michaels and Undertaker. After three tombstone piledrivers, Taker was 18-0 at WrestleMania and Shawnâs career was over.
