WWE Elimination Chamber Flashback: CM Punk, Daniel Bryan Defend Titles (2012)

CM Punk and Daniel Bryan defended the top WWE championships at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view in 2012, leading up to WrestleMania 28.

This year’s version of the Chamber show is set for March 1 in Toronto. The event will be streamed on Peacock.

Punk was the WWE champion going into the 2012 event, which took place in Milwaukee, Wisc.

He started the Chamber match against his former tag team championship partner, Kofi Kingston.

Dolph Ziggler and R-Truth were next, and Punk beat R-Truth with an elbow drop.

The Miz came out next, with Chris Jericho completing the field.

Jericho went on a hot streak, beating Ziggler with the Codebreaker and Kingston with the Lion Tamer.

Punk knocked Jericho out with a head kick. Since the Chamber was open after Kofi’s elimination, Jericho landed outside the Chamber and was out of the match.

Punk wrapped up his strong performance by defeating The Miz with his “Go To Sleep” finisher.

At WrestleMania, Punk beat Jericho to retain the title. Punk held the belt for the entire calendar year of 2012.

SMACKDOWN CHAMBER

Smackdown stars competed for Daniel Bryan’s World championship in the other Chamber match.

Wade Barrett and The Big Show were the first two participants. Cody Rhodes, Santino Marella, and The Great Khali were the next three in the match.

Big Show quickly won the Battle of the Giants by spearing Khali for the pin. Bryan came in last.

Rhodes and Barrett teamed up to eliminate Big Show. Marella rolled up Rhodes for the three-count.

Bryan hit a diving headbutt on Barrett, and Marella collected the pin.

Bryan retained the championship by forcing Marella to submit to the LeBell Lock.

This wasn’t the main event of the show, as John Cena beat Kane in an ambulance match to send the crowd home happy.

At WrestleMania 28, Sheamus beat Bryan in 18 seconds to win the World title.
