World Champion Los Angeles Dodgers Beat Cleveland Guardians 10-4 in Spring Training

Doug Nikhazy’s audition for a starting rotation spot with the Cleveland Guardians didn’t go well on Tuesday afternoon.

The Los Angeles Dodgers bombed him with six runs in the first inning in a 10-4 victory at Camelback Ranch in Glendale, Ariz.

Tommy Edman started the party for the World Series champions with a two-run homer to score Shohei Ohtani.

Max Muncy delivered a two-run double, and then things somehow got worse for Nikhazy.

The Dodgers loaded the bases. Ohtani and Edman came up to the plate again and drew run-scoring walks.

MORE OFFENSIVE DOMINANCE

Cleveland sent Magnus Ellerts to the mound in the second inning, and he gave up a two-run single to Andy Pages.

Tim Herrin pitched in the third but couldn’t finish. He gave up three walks and an RBI single to Enrique Hernandez.

The Dodgers finally wrapped up their scoring with a sacrifice fly by Chris Newell to take a 10-0 lead in the fifth inning.

Meanwhile, the Dodgers’ newest superstar, Roki Sasaki, pitched four shutout innings against the Guardians’ starters.

LET’S GET SOME RUNS

Cleveland finally got on the scoreboard in the sixth inning.

Micah Pries tripled and scored on a sacrifice fly by 19-year-old Ralphy Velasquez. Pries is hitting .471 this spring.

In the seventh, Guy Lipscomb Jr. hit an RBI double and scored on a groundout by Johnathan Rodriguez.

Cleveland will host San Francisco today, while the Dodgers stay on the ranch to face the Chicago White Sox. Both games will start at 4:05 Eastern.
