Wings Maddy Siegrist Crowned Athletes Unlimited Champion

While most WNBA fans’ attention has been fixated on Unrivaled this offseason, one of the Dallas Wings’ own has been dominating another league.

Earlier this week, Maddy Seigrist was crowned champion of the fourth season of the Athletes Unlimited basketball league.

During the four-week season, Seigrist averaged 24 points per game, shattering the league’s record with 7,052 leaderboard points.

“It’s great. Every time you get to step on the court, it’s a great opportunity, and I’m just trying to be the best basketball player I could be,” Siegrist said.

[It was made possible by] all the moments people don’t see. It’s going to lift maybe when you’re sore, and it’s going to shoot on a day when maybe you don’t feel like it. That’s all about being a pro.”

While being limited to just 27 games due to injury, Seigirst saw a near six-point increase in her points per game with the Wings last season.

2025 will see Seigirst have an increased role with Dallas after the departure of star forwards Satou Sabally and Natasha Howard.

Seigirst wasn’t the only Dallas Wing to turn heads during the Athletes Unlimited season this year.

Wings point guard Tyasha Harris was named the newcomer of the year in the league after averaging 15.5 points per game.

Harris will return to the Wings in 2025 after spending her first three seasons of the league in Dallas.

Last season with the Connecticut Sun, Harris averaged 10.5 and 3 assists while helping the team reach the semifinals.

The Dallas Wings will tip off their 2025 season on May 16th when they take on the Minnesota Lynx at the College Park Center in Arlington.

Dallas will play a pair of preseason games before that: one against the Las Vegas Aces on the campus of Notre Dame on May 2nd and one against Japan’s Toyota Antalopes in Arlington on May 10th.
