Will a Surprise Entrant Win the Women’s Royal Rumble?
The lineup for the women’s Royal Rumble on Saturday isn’t as loaded as the men’s version, but this match has room for surprises.
Rhea Ripley and Tiffany Stratton are the current titleholders on Raw and Smackdown, respectively.
The Rumble winner will challenge for a title at WrestleMania, but the Elimination Chamber will shake things up first on March 1.
Let’s take a look at the announced contenders and then the possible surprise entries.
WHO’S BEEN ANNOUNCED?
Bayley turned in a perfect performance last year. She lasted a record-breaking 63 minutes, won the Rumble, and then captured the title at WrestleMania from Iyo Sky.
Sky is also in the Rumble. She has been World champion and has won Money in the Bank, so she could add a Royal Rumble win to her resume.
Nia Jax has a physically dominant style that is perfect for the Royal Rumble. She just enjoyed a long WWE women’s title reign before losing to Stratton.
Liv Morgan is coming off the best year of her career, even though she recently lost her World title to Ripley. Morgan has been the runner-up in the last two Rumbles.
Charlotte Flair is coming back after a long injury layoff. With 14 World titles, she is chasing the record of 16 held by John Cena and her dad, Ric Flair.
Also announced for the women’s Rumble are Women’s tag team champions Bianca Belair and Naomi, Ivy Nile, Raquel Rodriguez, and Lyra Valkyria.
WHO MAY BE A SURPRISE?
Roxanne Perez has been the NXT women’s champion twice, so she’s ready for the main roster. She may try to ruin Bayley’s chances to repeat as the Rumble winner.
Asuka has been out with an injury for several months. She won the first women’s Rumble in 2018.
Jade Cargill could throw the Rumble into chaos, especially if she reveals who brutally attacked her a few months ago.
WHO WON’T BE THERE?
Jordynne Grace would seem to be a great choice to win the Rumble. She was a surprise last year while holding the TNA Knockouts title.
Grace recently signed a WWE contract, but don’t expect her to appear in the Rumble. She’s celebrating her mom’s birthday this weekend, and she posted a screenshot of the plane ticket to prove it.
