The WWE Is Changing Road Signs In Indy?
The Royal Rumble. For those of you who don’t know what that is, it is one of the biggest pay-per-views on the calendar for the WWE. It is one of those shows that is so spectacular in it’s uniqueness, to the point where it has become a mainstay for the company for so many years. The Rumble has created a MULTITUDE of popular moments over the years, to the point where just it’s name ALONE makes fans think….what more can they do? What will happen next?
Well this year, in the lead-up to the event in Indianapolis, it looks like the company (and the city) is doing something ‘interesting’ with the show. It looks like they are pulling an old play out of the Simpsons‘ playbook, and replacing some of the street signs around Lucas Oil Stadium with names of wrestlers who will be performing at the event.
NAVIGATION NEWS: #WWE road signs are going up all around #Indy for the Royal Rumble.

Now…..I get what they’re trying to do here. I get that the WWE, and the rest of the folks who are associated with the Rumble, are trying to promote the upcoming event in a unique way. They are trying to make it seem like they are “taking over” the city of Indianapolis, and turning it into a “WWE Town” of sorts? If that makes sense?
Personally, if I basically “owned” a day of the week in a city, i would do the same thing. But with my brain being the way that it is, the first thought that came to my mind when I saw this was…….”how are visitors going to find their way around town?”
Is that crazy to think about? I know that we live in an age where ‘technology rules,’ and people can just plug whatever address they want into their phone. But could you IMAGINE someone trying to traverse Indianapolis without a phone? Could you IMAGINE some elderly couple who’s visiting Indy to see their grandkid, and the only thing that they have at their disposal is a paper map and a heaping load of 75 year old willpower?
To me…..that sounds absolutely WILD! Granted, someone ACTUALLY carrying around a paper map in 2025 seems like a 1-in-100,000 chance. But that’s besides the point. That’s besides the point, because personally……the thought of someone actively looking for “Capital Ave,” only to find “Yeet St,” just brings the biggest smile to my face. It just sounds too damn funny! It’s one of those odd occurrences that makes you wonder; is this idea going to go over well, or is it going to blow up in the project manager’s face?
Obviously, I have no idea! But I know one thing’s for certain…..I can’t WAIT for the Royal Rumble this weekend. This is, WITHOUT QUESTION, my favorite night of the year. This event is always SO UNPREDICTABLE, to the point where people will just tune in for the ‘aura’ of the show. They will just turn it on, for the sole fact that anything can happen.
I mean, whether it’s Edge’s return back in 2020….

or anything in between…..the Rumble NEVER disappoints!
Here’s hoping for another HISTORIC start to the Road to Wrestlemania! But in the end, as always…..what do I know? I’m just a guy from the Midwest, with a beer and a laptop, trying to make sense of this world,
