The Green Bay Packers Are Complaining About The ‘Tush Push’

The ‘Tush Push.’ This particular play has been the “bread and butter” for the Philadelphia Eagles for the past number of years. It has become a STAPLE of the ‘Eagles’ Scheme,’ that has helped propel this organization to three Super Bowl appearances (and two wins) since 2016. It’s almost a ‘cheat code’ of sorts, that allows Jalen Hurts and co. to convert short-yardage with GREAT EASE!

It’s iconic! It’s football royalty! But the problem is…there is one team who doesn’t like it. There is one team who thinks it should be banned from the league, never to be used again. What team is that, you may ask?

Well…

It’s the Green Bay Packers! According to Senior NFL Insider Dianna Russini, these green and yellow clad cheese-heads have reportedly submitted a proposal to the competition committee to have the ‘tush push’ banned forever. They want it GONE from the game, never to be seen again. It has been a hot-button issue in recent years, with teams and even committee members taking a look at the play itself. But nothing has been done about it…until now.

The Eagles, for those of you who may have forgotten, did face off against the Packers in the Wild Card round of the playoffs this year, only to lose by a score of 22-10. It was a game where, shockingly enough, the Packers actually USED the ‘Tush Push’ to their own advantage.

The question that arises though is…SHOULD the play actually be banned? Is it really that “unfair” to the rest of the league, based on the fact that Philly had the “fourth-best fourth-down conversion rate in the league (70.4)?

Ummmmmm…NO! This is, WITHOUT QUESTION, one of the most moronic actions that I’ve ever seen a professional football team take. GROWN MEN are calling “foul” on a play, because they are not good enough to actually stop it? That is just one of the most PREPOSTEROUS situations that I’ve ever seen in my entire life……and I lived through the “DeflateGate” days of the New England Patriots.

The Green Bay Packers are SO SOFT for doing this, it’s not even funny. I get it; they overpaid for Jordan Love, and they feel bad about it. I get it; he’s not as strong as Jalen Hurts, so Matt LaFleur and co. can’t run it as consistently as the Eagles. But to cry to the league offices because you are incapable of stopping it? Give me a break!

To me, this would be the same as a kid losing a pick-up basketball game at school, and then HEAVING the ball onto the roof out of frustration. It’s one of those; “if I’m not having fun, then no one will have fun” types of situations, if you catch my drift?

If anything, the Packers just need to be the grown men that they are, and figure out a way to stop the ‘Tush Push.’ Get in the lab, get out to practice, and concoct some sort of plan that will help slow down Jalen Hurts and co. There is no need to be acting like children by tattling to the head officials when you can’t get the job done yourself.

Absolute insanity! But in the end, as always…what do I know? I’m just a guy from the Midwest, with a beer and a laptop, trying to make sense of this world.
