Cleveland Browns 2025 NFL Free Agency, Center
Cleveland is going to spend money on free agency in 2025, despite what national and local media report. Today I’ll start a series of articles on six positions Cleveland will need to address, whether it be as starters or backups, quarterback, offensive tackle, safety, tight end, center and offensive guard. Today, centers.
The center position for the Browns over the last couple of years has been a revolving door due to injuries. Last year, 2023 six-round pick Luke Wypler was lost to injury, then his replacement Nick Harris suffered the same fate. Starting center Ethan Pocic struggled early in the season as did the rest of the offensive line. He did start to return to form as the season progressed. Cleveland must decide if Pocic will return to his top ten form or move on from him saving the Browns $6 million in cap space. I believe they will keep Pocic and use Wypler as his backup depending on his health. So the Browns will need an experienced back up to compete with Wypler.
Cory Levin, Titans. Levin is 30 years old, played 12.2 % snaps and has been in the league six years. His salary for 2024 was 1.125 million and his cap hit was $437,776.00. His potential 2025 contract could be one-year at $1.170 million.
Robert Hainsey, Tampa. Hainsey is 26 years old, played 8.32% of snaps and has been in the league four years. His salary and cap hit for 2024 was $3.3 million. His potential 2025 contract could be two-years at $2.5 million.
Nick Gates, Eagles. Gates is 30 years old, played 8.3% snaps and has been in the league seven years. His salary for 2024 was $1.125 million and his cap hit was $1.062 million. His potential 2025 contract could be one-year at $1.255 million.
Others:
Brady Chirstensen, Panthers, Danny Pinter, Colts, Shane Lemieux, Saints and Daniel Brunskill, Titans.
Next, tight end.
