Cavs Win their 50th Game over the Trailblazers in OT, 133-129

On Sunday March 2nd at 3;30 pm eastern time, the 49-10 Cleveland Cavaliers hosted the 27-33 Portland Trailblazers at the Rocket Arena in downtown Cleveland Ohio. The Cavaliers last game was an epic come from behind 123-116 win over the Boston Celtics in Boston last Friday. The Trailblazers last game was a 121-102 win over the Brooklyn Nets in Brooklyn New York last Friday as well. The Cavaliers rested Donovan Mitchell for this game, and he did not play. The Trailblazers were without Deandre Ayton, Robert Williams III, and Matisse Thybulle for the game. The Cavaliers have won 13 out of their last 14 games, they have the best record in the NBA and were trying for their 50th win of the season.

In the first quarter, the Cavaliers started slow but picked up the scoring later in the quarter. And at the end of the first quarter the Cavaliers trailed the Trailblazers 27-24. In the second quarter, the Cavaliers took their first lead of the game. But they still struggled with shooting and trailed at halftime 54-42. In the third quarter, the Cavaliers did get into foul trouble. And after three quarters of play the Cavaliers trailed the Trailblazers 89-79. In the fourth quarter the Cavaliers fought back to tie the game at the end of regulation 119-119. In overtime the Cavaliers grinded out their 50th win of the season 133-129.

The Cavaliers’ leading scorer was De’Andre Hunter with 32 points in 32 minutes. Jarrett Allen had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Up next for the 50-10 Cleveland Cavaliers is a trip to Chicago Illinois to play the 24-36 Chicago Bulls on Tuesday March 4th at 8 pm eastern time, at the United Center. This Cleveland Cavaliers team continues to find ways to win games this season. They are on the brink of having something special this season and that will continue Tuesday night in Chicago.
