Cavs Win Game 2, Defeat Heat, 121-112, lead series 2-0

On Wednesday April 23rd, 2025, at 7:30 pm eastern time, the number one seed Cleveland Cavaliers hosted the number eight seed Miami Heat for game two of the Eastern Conference First Round Playoff Series at the Rocket Arena in downtown Cleveland Ohio. In game one in Cleveland the Cavaliers defeated the Miami Heat 121-100 to take a 1-0 series lead. The Cavaliers had no one listed on their injury report for this game. Out for the Heat was Kevin Love, Dru Smith, Isaiah Stevens, and Terry Rozier. The Cavaliers were looking to take a 2-0 series and head to game three in Miami next Saturday afternoon.

In the first quarter the teams played each other even and the Cavaliers led after one quarter of play by a score of 25-24. In the second quarter the Cavaliers pulled away from the Heat. And at halftime the Cavaliers led the Heat 68-51. In the third quarter the Heat cut into the Cavaliers lead. But after three quarters of play the Cavaliers still led the Heat by a score of 93-80. In the fourth and final quarter the Heat made the game close. Cavaliers’ fans would say it was too close for comfort. Despite that, the Cavaliers went on to win game two of this series 121-112 to take 2-0 series lead.

The Cavaliers’ leading scorer was Donovan Mitchell with 30 points in 36 minutes. The Cavaliers had five players with double digit scoring. Up next for the Eastern Conference top seed Cleveland Cavaliers is a trip to Miami Florida on Saturday April 26th, 2025, at 1 pm eastern time for game three of this series at the Kaseya Center. This Cavaliers team is healthy and well rested for the playoffs. They need to take advantage of that for a deep playoff run. That advantage continues with a game three win in South Beach on Saturday
