Cavs Win 12th Straight By Beating the Heat, 112-107
On Wednesday March 5th the 51-10 Cleveland Cavaliers hosted the 29-31 Miami Heat at the Rocket Arena in downtown Cleveland Ohio. The Cavaliers last game was a 139-117 win on the road against the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday night. The Heat’s last game was a 106-90 win at home against the Washington Wizards last Monday. The Cavaliers did not report any players on their injury report prior to the game. Out for the Heat was Andrew Wiggins, Nikola Jovic, Dru Smith, and Jamie Jaquez Jr. The Cavaliers were going for their 52nd win of the season and were still one game ahead of Oklahoma City for the best record in the NBA.
In the first quarter the game was high paced and high scoring, the Cavaliers led the Heat at the end of the quarter 36-32. In the second quarter the Cavaliers built a 17-point lead, but the Miami Heat closed the quarter with a 13-1 run and at halftime the Cavaliers led 63-59. In the third quarter the Cavaliers and Heat continued to battle back and forth and at the end of the third quarter the Cavaliers held the lead 86-82. In the fourth and final quarter the game stayed close, and Cavaliers held on to win their 12th game in a row and 52nd game of the season 112-107.
The Cavaliers’ leading scorer was Donovan Mitchell with 26 points in 36 minutes. Evan Mobley came back into the starting lineup with a double-double earning 16 points and 13 rebounds in 36 minutes of play. Up next for the 52-10 Cleveland Cavaliers is a trip to Charlotte North Carolina Friday March 7th at 7 pm eastern time at the Spectrum Center. This Cleveland Cavaliers team will be going for their 53rd win of the season. As a fan and a beat reporter, I look forward to every game this team plays.
