Cavs Beat the Nets to Clinch Division Title, 109-104
On Tuesday March 11th at 7pm eastern time, the 54-10 Cleveland Cavaliers hosted the 22-42 Brooklyn Nets at the Rocket Arena in downtown Cleveland Ohio. The Cavaliers last game was a convincing 112-100 win at Milwaukee over the Bucks last Sunday. The Nets last game was a 111-108 win at home over the Los Angeles Lakers the night before. The Cavaliers for this game were without Donovan Mitchell, Ty Jerome and D’Andre Hunter. Out for the Nets was D’Angelo Russell. The Cavaliers were trying for their 55th win of the season and their 15th win in a row.
In the first quarter it was a competitive game and at the end of the first quarter the Cleveland Cavaliers trailed the Brooklyn Nets 29-26. In the second quarter the Nets started to pull away from the short-handed Cavaliers and they led at halftime 63-50. In the third quarter the Cavaliers chipped away at the Nets lead and after three quarters of play the Nets led the Cavaliers 86-78. In the fourth and final quarter the Cavaliers took the lead for good and in a resilient effort beat the Brooklyn Nets 109-104. With this victory the Cleveland Cavaliers clinched the Central Division Championship.
The Cavaliers’ leading scorer was Darius Garland with 30 points in 36 minutes. Jarrett Allen earned a double-double with 23 points and 13 rebounds in 36 minutes of play. Up next for the 55-10 Central Division Champion Cleveland Cavaliers is a trip to Memphis Tennessee to play the 41-24 Memphis Grizzlies on Friday March 14th, 2025, at 8pm eastern time, at the FedEx Forum. This Cavaliers team will be going for their 56th win of the season and their 16th win in a row. As long as this team stays healthy, the sky is the limit for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
