2025 NFL Draft TE ‘Quick Hitters:’ Mini Scouting Reports for Mid-Round Tight Ends

Over the past four months, I have provided you all more detailed scouting reports on the top prospects in this draft. However, due to time constraints that come along with finishing your final semester of college, working, and serving in church ministry, I was unable to write detailed scouting reports for many of the players I have rated in the 40-125 range of this draft. The intention of today’s article is to get you mildly familiar with the best prospects who will still be available in Rounds 2-4.

Today, we will take a closer look at the tight ends.

*Note: Players who I have already written full scouting reports for will not be featured in these articles. You may access those on my position rankings article, which may be accessed HERE.

Terrance Ferguson | TE | Oregon | 6’5″, 247 lbs
  • Impressive body control and field awareness
  • Above-average athlete
  • Physical after the catch
  • Decent in-line blocker but needs to add more weight
  • Needs to be more aggressive on 50/50 balls
Harold Fannin, Jr. | TE | Bowling Green | 6’3″, 241 lbs
  • Record-setting production at BGSU
  • Explosive after the catch; plays faster than he times
  • Knows how to separate
  • Great hands in traffic
  • Lacks the body type to be an in-line tight end and contribute as an in-line blocker
Gunnar Helm | TE | Texas | 6’5″, 241 lbs
  • Pure route-runner who has a swift get-off
  • Generally possesses sure hands
  • Not a fan of his run blocking; poor blocking technique and lacks strength at the point of attack
  • Needs to add weight if he wants to play in-line at the NFL level
  • Never popped to me on tape as an explosive athlete
