2025 NFL Draft CB ‘Quick Hitters:’ Mini Scouting Reports for Mid-Round Cornerbacks

Over the past four months, I have provided you all more detailed scouting reports on the top prospects in this draft. However, due to time constraints that come along with finishing your final semester of college, working, and serving in church ministry, I was unable to write detailed scouting reports for many of the players I have rated in the 40-125 range of this draft. The intention of today’s article is to get you mildly familiar with the best prospects who will still be available in Rounds 2-4.

Today, we will take a closer look at the running backs.

*Note: Players who I have already written full scouting reports for will not be featured in these articles. You may access those on my position rankings article, which may be accessed HERE.

Trey Amos | CB | Ole Miss | 6’1″, 195 lbs
  • Long corner with sufficient athleticism for any coverage scheme
  • Very impressive footwork and hip fluidity in coverage
  • Inconsistent tackler in the open field
  • Not as physical as I would like him to be in man coverage
Nohl Williams | CB | California | 6’0″, 199 lbs
  • Incredible instincts and ball skills
  • His short-area burst allows him to break quickly on the ball and close on defenders quickly
  • Needs to get stronger at the point of attack; will be scary if he can add 5 pounds of muscle and maintain his speed
  • Not an effective run defender
Darien Porter | CB | Iowa State | 6’3″, 195 lbs
  • Elite length and speed that will draw rave reviews
  • Can change direction quickly and break on in-cutting routes to break up passes and make plays on the ball
  • Played almost exclusively zone in college
  • Poor tackler
Zah Frazier | CB | UTSA | 6’3″, 186 lbs
  • Outstanding speed for a corner his size
  • Impressive ball skills, and there is even more room for growth
  • Very raw in technique
  • Doesn’t change direction quickly
  • Instincts are still developing in zone
Azareye’h Thomas | CB | Florida State | 6’2″, 197 lbs
  • Impressive physicality at the line of scrimmage
  • Great route recognition
  • Poor speed; will get beaten if on an island by himself with a speedy receiver
  • Instincts are okay but not elite like you would like for a corner with his athletic limitations
Jacob Parrish | CB | Kansas State | 5’10”, 191 lbs
  • Impressive footwork helps him successfully mirror receivers in man coverage
  • Speed will never be a question mark
  • Might be viewed by the league as a nickel corner due to a lack of length
  • Tackling is very inconsistent
Quincy Riley | CB | Louisville | 5’11”, 194 lbs
  • Great positioning in man coverage
  • Impressive ball skills
  • Tenacious and feisty in coverage
  • Doesn’t read and react as quickly as I would like when his eyes are on the quarterback
  • Needs to get functionally stronger if he wants to become a better tackler
