Stars Sign Sam Steel To Two-Year Contract Extension
The Dallas Stars’ “Swiss army knife” will be sticking around the metroplex for at least another two seasons.
Sam Steel and the Stars agreed to a two-year contract extension for 4.2 million dollars.
The deal will begin next season during the 2025-2026 season and will run through the 2026-2027 season.
“We are thrilled to extend Sam for the next two years,” Stars general manager Jim Nill said. “His versatility on both ends of the ice have proven to be a huge asset for our team.
He is a player that we can count on to make a positive impact and do the little things that lead to wins.”
Through 53 games this season, Steel has recorded 17 goals via four goals and 13 assists during his second year with Dallas.
Mostly playing on the fourth line during his time with the Stars, Steel has added some much-needed offense to the Stars’ bottom forward group.
With his ability to kill penalties and play in 6 on 5 situations, Steel has been immensely valuable to Peter DeBoer.
