Our flagship podcast, Affected by Altitude, hosted by Evan Lang and Skyler Timmins, covers all the happenings of the big league club. This week, Skyler and Evan celebrate the official start of the 2025 MLB season by breaking down the Opening Day 26-man roster and 11th-hour roster shuffles and moves made by the Colorado Rockies. At the last minute the Rockies added outfielder Mickey Moniak, signaling the end of Sam Hilliard’s spot on the team. Then it’s time to discuss the season’s first series which, unsurprisingly, did not go the Rockies’ way. The team had a mixed bag of results with some solid starting pitching, some so-so bullpen performance, and the typical Rockies offense that we have come to know and love where strikeouts are plentiful and not much else. We round things out with a discussion about skipper Bud Black and his seemingly infinite amount of rope as manager of the organization.
