Rocky Mountain Rooftop is the Colorado Rockies affiliate of Fans First Sports Network, dedicated to covering all things Rockies. Our flagship podcast, Affected by Altitude, hosted by Evan Lang and Skyler Timmins, covers all the happenings of the big league club. Other shows under the RMR banner include Every Rockie Ever and Rooftop Mingl,e featuring player interviews.

This week, Evan and Skyler discuss the Spring Breakout Prospect Showcase rosters. The Rockies ended up winning their game over the Chicago White Sox prospects with plenty of pitchers putting on a show, highlighting the bright future of help for the team. Then, they move on to the nitty-gritty. Everyone’s favorite Rockies owner made it deep into Spring Training before saying something that made people mad. This time it’s about the impending CBA negotiations, the Los Angeles Dodgers, and his desire for a salary cap and floor. Monfort has been vocal about the spending habits of teams in his division before, and once again was beating the drum bemoaning the fact that it’s hard for him to compete. There is merit in the concerns, but Monfort isn’t exactly the model citizen to be trying to make the claims that he is making. The Rockies have been bad for the majority of the last 20 years since he became a primary owner, and money spending is just one of many problems with his tenure as an owner. We wrap things up by discussing camp battles and how the 2025 roster is shaping up so far.
