Affected by Altitude Episode 152: Life’s A Pitch and Then You Catch

This episode was recorded on Saturday, February 16, 2025. Stats and events may not be current at time of posting.Β

Rocky Mountain Rooftop is the Colorado Rockies affiliate of Fans First Sports Network dedicated to covering all things Rockies. Our flagship podcast Affected by Altitude, hosted by Evan Lang and Skyler Timmins, covers all the happenings of the big league club. Other shows under the RMR banner include Every Rockie Ever and Rooftop Mingle featuring player interviews.

This week, Skyler and Evan focus on the first official act of spring training as pitchers and catchers for the Colorado Rockies have reported to camp! To celebrate the occasion, the hosts dive all in on talking pitchers and catchers. What is the outlook for the rotation? The Rockies have five familiar faces projected to start and hope that all of them can remain healthy and effective but that seems like a big ask. They have Chase Dollander waiting in the wings, trying to prove himself in camp but will the Rockies legitimately consider adding him if he proves himself? They then talking a player projection for the catching unit, trying to figure out just how often Jacob Stallings will play while debating who the backup catcher should be. It appears Hunter Goodman has the inside track to start the year, but have the Rockies really given up on Drew Romo that quickly? Finally, they round things out with a discussion and player projections for the bullpen, which could be one of the more interesting team pieces in 2025.
