Rockets Drop Close Contest To Lakers

The Houston Rockets’ brief three-game winning streak is over.

On Monday night, Houston dropped a close battle to the Los Angeles Lakers 104-98 in a nationally televised contest.

Amen Thompson led the way for the Rockets with 20 points. He had a strong all-around performance with 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks.

Dillion Brooks scored 16 points and snagged 5 rebounds while knocking down three 3-pointers on 9 shots.

Brooks’ missed free throw with 20 seconds left with 20 seconds left which would have cut the deficit to just one.

Alperen Sengun finished with 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists in yet another strong effort from him.

Houston’s backcourt did not have the greatest go at it as, after being named the western conference player of the week, Jalen Green finished with just 9 points.

Fred VanVleet scored a starting lineup low 7 points but contributed with 9 rebounds and 5 assists.

Off the bench, Jabari Smith Jr continued his strong play securing a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds to go along with it.

Tari Eason also finished in double figures off the bench with 15 points on just 10 shot attempts. He also snagged 11 rebounds.

The Rockets will be back in action tomorrow night when they take on the Utah Jazz as they continue their road swing.
