Ring Of Honor: Australian Show Kicks off a Double Dose of Action

Ring Of Honor fans enjoyed two shows this week on Honor Club, starting with a special event called “Global Wars” from Brisbane, Australia.

Global Wars used to be a regular date on the ROH calendar, as wrestlers from other promotions take on the company’s top stars.

The opening match featured all ROH talent, as The Outrunners & Bandido defeated The Learning Tree (Big Bill, Bryan Keith & ROH champion Chris Jericho).

Pure champion Lee Moriarty defeated Robbie Eagles from New Japan Pro Wrestling to retain the title.

Moriarty used the ropes while pinning Eagles, but this was legal because Eagles had used up all three of his rope breaks.

Mark Davis of the Aussie Open team defeated Tommy Knight with a piledriver to thrill the Brisbane crowd.

Dustin Rhodes & Sammy Guevara retained the ROH tag team title with a win over MxM Collection. The fashionistas stole Guevara’s title belt again after the match.

Athena continued her 800-day reign as ROH women’s champion by defeating British star Alex Windsor in the main event.

RING OF LUCHA

ROH presented its regular show last night on Honor Club. The main event featured stars from Mexico’s CMLL promotion.

Sammy Guevara teamed up with Fuego and Dark Panther to defeat Hechicero, Soberano Jr. & Barbaro Cavernario (a wrestling caveman!)

Former ROH Pure champion Wheeler Yuta defeated Fuego del Sol (not to be confused with CMLL’s Fuego).

“The Living Dead Girl” Abadon defeated Rachel Ellering. Abadon has been described as “Finn Balor’s Demon character, but if it was a clown.”

In a 12-man tag team match, The Outrunners, Top Flight & The Von Erichs defeated The Frat House & The Premier Athletes. The Outrunners hit Total Recall to score the pin on Mark Sterling, who is usually the manager of the Athletes.

Billie Starkz defeated Hyan. Gates of Agony destroyed the “Fly Def” tag team.

Komander retained the ROH TV title with a victory over Lee Johnson. The champ won after his rope-walking Cielito Lindo finisher.

Jericho will defend the ROH title against Bandido this Saturday night on AEW Collision.
