NFL Offseason Wish Lists: NFC South
The 2024 NFL Season is over, and the 2025 Offseason is in full swing! It’s an exciting time for fans and franchises alike as new hope dawns with the records reset for all 32 squads. With that in mind, I want to do a series looking at all 32 teams “Offseason Wish Lists” with a special look at how each team will attack the new league year and how they will use the various methods of adding talent to best prepare their rosters for 2025.
We’ll break it down by division over the coming days. We’ve already looked at the NFC and AFC East Divisions. Up next, an intriguing NFC South:

TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS
2024 Result: 10-7 Reg. Season, Lost in NFC Wild Card Round
Biggest Needs: WR, OL, Edge
1st Round Draft Slot: 19th Overall
Proj. 2025 Cap Space: $633K
The Buccaneers would love an offseason in which they surround Baker Mayfield with highly skilled, young talent on the offensive side of the ball. Chris Godwin is headed for Free Agency after an injury-riddled 2024, Mike Evans is another year older, and the OL needs a boost of youth, specifically along the interior. There’s not much cap space to work with, but a strong Draft could help a good team get better in 2025.
ATLANTA FALCONS
2024 Result: 8-9 Reg. Season, Missed Playoffs
Biggest Needs: Edge, CB, WR
1st Round Draft Slot: 15th Overall
Proj. 2025 Cap Space: -$7.0M
It’s defense, defense, defense for the Falcons this offseason, though they should consider sprinkling in some fresh talent at WR alongside Drake London to take some of the pressure of their young star. On the other side of the ball, though, it’s time to finally add some weapons on the Edge to get after QBs. If Abdul Carter were to slide at all in light of his recently announced stress injury in his foot, that’s a player you have to go get if you’re Atlanta. They need a good bit of secondary help as well at both CB and Safety. They should address both early in this offseason.
CAROLINA PANTHERS
2024 Result: 5-12 Reg. Season, Missed Playoffs
Biggest Needs: Edge, WR, DT
1st Round Draft Slot: 8th Overall
Proj. 2025 Cap Space: $26.5M
The season’s finish for QB Bryce Young was a great weight off Carolina’s shoulders. Now, it’s time to get him some help. You can do that in multiple ways in their position. A Top 8 Draft selection should land you a blue chip talent at a premium position like Edge or WR. Free Agency would be a great place to get a head start on repairing the defense, specifically up front. From there, adding playmaking talent around Bryce Young would be an excellent outcome for the Panthers.
NEW ORLEANS SAINTS
2024 Result: 5-12 Reg. Season, Missed Playoffs
Biggest Needs: Edge, WR, TE
1st Round Draft Slot: 9th Overall
Proj. 2025 Cap Space: -$56.8M
Once again, the New Orleans Saints have the worst cap situation in Football. They’ve managed to be somewhat competitive in recent years until last season, when the bottom fell out of an aging, expensive roster. This organization has to place a premium on explosive, young talent, and they’ll need to maximize their draft in order to accomplish that feat. The Saints may end up desperately needing a QB if they decide to move on from Derek Carr, and with their cap situation, it makes sense to narrow in on a youth movement across the board, even if it means another underwhelming record in 2025.
