2025 NFL Draft DL ‘Quick Hitters:’ Mini Scouting Reports for Mid-Round Defensive Linemen

Over the past four months, I have provided you all more detailed scouting reports on the top prospects in this draft. However, due to time constraints that come along with finishing your final semester of college, working, and serving in church ministry, I was unable to write detailed scouting reports for many of the players I have rated in the 40-125 range of this draft. The intention of today’s article is to get you mildly familiar with the best prospects who will still be available in Rounds 2-4.

Today, we will take a closer look at the defensive linemen.

*Note: Players who I have already written full scouting reports for will not be featured in these articles. You may access those on my position rankings article, which may be accessed HERE.

Ty Robinson | DL | Nebraska | 6’5″, 288 lbs
  • Outstanding motor with elite straight-line athleticism
  • Relentless in pursuit
  • Tough-nosed prospect who possesses incredible power
  • His lack of ideal arm length causes struggles when it comes to gaining leverage
  • Also puts him at a disadvantage when it comes to disengaging from defenders
Tyleik Williams | DT | Ohio State | 6’3″, 334 lbs
  • Tremendous lower-body strength and difficult to move off the ball
  • Lethal with his hands
  • Needs to bend the knees more; plays too stiff
  • Struggles to disengage and make tackles at the line of scrimmage due to his lack arm length
Joshua Farmer | DT | Florida State | 6’3″, 305 lbs
  • Solid athlete with long arms and heavy hands
  • Keeps the pads nice and low
  • Great straight-line power
  • Struggles to disengage
Shemar Turner | DL | Texas A&M | 6’3″, 290 lbs
  • Quick out of his stance
  • Solid hand usage
  • Needs to loosen up as a pass rusher
  • Production dipped from 2023
  • Poor temperament for the game and needs to mature
Alfred Collins | DT | Texas | 6’6″, 332 lbs
  • Great length
  • Never gives up on a play
  • Respectable tackling technique
  • Plays too tall and gets pushed off the ball easier than he should
Omarr Norman-Lott | DT | Tennessee | 6’2″, 291 lbs
  • Quick off the snap
  • Active hands
  • Wins off quickness
  • Struggled to win with power in college, and it won’t get any easier to do so in the NFL
T.J. Sanders | DT | South Carolina | 6’4″, 297 lbs
  • Impressive gap discipline
  • Aggressive striker with his hands
  • Needs to play more relaxed and less tense
  • Poor footwork
J.J. Pegues | DT | Ole Miss | 6’3″, 309 lbs
  • Swift feet allow him to move well laterally
  • Great penetrator but not a finisher as a pass rusher
  • Athletic traits are pedestrian
  • Lacks elite arm length and can struggle to gain leverage at times
Jordan Phillips | DT | Maryland | 6’2″, 312 lbs
  • Strong at the point of attack and plays bigger than his size against the run
  • Difficult to move away from the ball
  • At a disadvantage in 1-on-1s due to his lack of ideal arm length
  • Lacks polish as a pass rusher and will be limited to early-down work until that changes
