Cavs Win Second Straight, defeat Trailblazers 122-111

On Tuesday March 25th at 10pm eastern time, at the Moda Center, the 57-14 Cleveland Cavaliers traveled to Portland Oregon to play the 32-40 Portland Trailblazers. The Cavaliers last game was a 120-91 win last Sunday in Utah defeating the Utah Jazz. The Trailblazers last game was a 129-116 loss at home to the Boston Celtics last Sunday as well. Out for the Cavaliers was Donovan Mitchell for injury management and Jaylon Tyson due to a knee injury. Out for the Trailblazers was Deandre Ayton and Robert Williams III. The Cavaliers were trying to end their brutal five game west coast trip with a second consecutive win.

In the first quarter the game was evenly matched, and the score was tied after one quarter of play 33-33. In the second quarter the Cavaliers pulled ahead with a late quarter run and led at halftime 60-52. In the third quarter the Trailblazers were able to cut into the Cavaliers lead, but the Cavaliers led after three quarters of play 92-86. In the fourth and final quarter the Cavaliers pulled away for good and won their 58th game of the season 122-111. The Cavaliers went 2-3 on their recent five game west coast road trip.

The Cavaliers’ leading scorer was Darius Garland with 27 points in 33 minutes. Evan Mobley had another double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds in 33 minutes of play. Up next for the 58-14 Cleveland Cavaliers is hosting the 31-40 San Antonio Spurs on Thursday March 27th ,2025, 7 pm eastern time at the Rocket Arena in downtown Cleveland Ohio. With ten games remaining on the schedule the Cavaliers are trying to lock up the Eastern Conference top playoff seed. Their magic number is six for the number one conference playoff seeding. The home stretch to tune up for the playoffs continues for this team Thursday night.
