Cavs Win 44th game, Defeat the Raptors, 131-108
On Wednesday February 12th at 7:30 PM eastern time, the 43-10 Cleveland Cavaliers traveled to Toronto Canada to play the 17-37 Toronto Raptors at the Scotiabank Arena. The Cavaliers last game was a 128-107 win at home over the Minnesota Timberwolves last Monday. The Raptors last game was a 106-103 road win over the Philadelphia 76ers last Tuesday. Out for the Cavaliers was Dean Wade and Isaac Okoro. The Raptors were without PJ Tucker for the game. This is the final game before the NBA All Star break. The Cavaliers want to carry momentum into the break with a win streak.
To start the game the Cavaliers clearly outplayed the Raptors and led after the first quarter 41-17. The second quarter was more evenly played, and the Cavaliers led at halftime 68-43. In the third quarter the Cavaliers and Raptors played at a high scoring pace, but the Cavaliers led after three quarters of play 100-78. In the fourth and final quarter the Cavaliers kept up their level of elite play and went on to win their 44th game of the season 131-108.
The Cavaliers’ leading scorer was Donovan Mitchell with 21 points in 29 minutes. Evan Mobley earned another double-double with 12 points and 15 rebounds in 28 minutes of play. The 44-10 Cleveland Cavaliers next game is on Thursday February 20th at 7:30 pm eastern time, they will travel to Brooklyn New York to play the 19-34 Brooklyn Nets, This Eastern Conference leading Cavaliers team is officially into the NBA All-Star break. The team will be well represented this weekend with Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley, Darius Garland and head coach Kenny Atkinson heading to San Francisco California. Cavs fans are hoping for even more representation in the NBA Finals in June. Most Cavs fans like me can’t wait for that to happen. But we can wait until after the All-Star break.
