Cavs lose to Kings, 120-113

On Sunday April 6th at 6 pm eastern time, the 62-15 Cleveland Cavaliers hosted the 37-40 Sacramento Kings at the Rocket Arena in downtown Cleveland Ohio. The Cavaliers last game was a nail biting 114-113 win on the road over the San Antonio Spurs last Friday. The Kings last game was a 125-102 win at the Charlotte Hornets last Friday as well. For the Cavaliers both Ty Jerome and Dean Wade were listed as questionable. Jerome did play and Wade did not play in this game. Out for the Kings were Jake LaRavia and Mason Jones.  Keegan Murray was listed as questionable for the Kings too. And he did not play. The Cavaliers were trying to clinch the Eastern Conference top playoff seed and their 63rd win of the season.

The first quarter was high scoring for the Kings and the Cavaliers. And after one quarter of play the Kings led the Cavaliers 31-27. In the second quarter the Cavaliers pulled ahead of the Kings and led at halftime 57-56. In the third quarter the Kings outplayed the Cavaliers and led after three quarters of play 91-79. In the fourth and final quarter the Cavaliers opened with a 12-2 run and made the game close, but the Kings hang on to hand the Cavaliers their 16th loss of the season 120-113.

The Cavaliers’ leading scorer was Ty Jerome with 20 points in 24 minutes. The Cavaliers lost this game despite having six players with double digit scoring. Up next for the 62-16 Cleveland Cavaliers is hosting the 36-42 Chicago Bulls on Tuesday April 8th at 7 pm eastern time, at the Rocket Arena in downtown Cleveland Ohio. The Cavaliers magic number to clinch the Eastern Conference Playoffs top seed stays at one. With the ability to rest key players to better prepare for the playoffs it would be ideal to clinch as soon as possible for this Cavaliers team. And there will be no better time to do that then Tuesday night.
