Mike Trout To Play Right Field in 2025

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have a superstar in their franchise named Mike Trout. In his prime, he was surely one of the best players in baseball, but health has not been his strong suit of late.

Trout has played only 266 of the 648 games the Angels have played over the past 4 seasons due to injury. There was no doubt that he was a generational talent when he entered the league.

“Kind of just do everything on the table, as in what’s best for me body-wise to keep me on the field,” Trout said to reporters. “Came to the conclusion that I’m gonna go to right field. I like it. Try it out. See where it goes … I knew it was coming. Just got to get used to it. I just want to be on the field.”
Trout has been a centerfielder his entire career, and a good on at that. He knows it’s time to move off of the position, and it was a big step for him to admit it.

Moving to right field will hopefully give Trout a chance to extend his career. He is only 33 years old at this point.

Trout has been productive when on the field. The Angels have squandered most of his career. They are not good right now either, but maybe manager Ron Washington can turn their fortunes around.

As a Texas Rangers podcaster and writer and fan, I have enjoyed Mike Trout from afar. There is always that one guy on your teams rival that you kind of like.

Ichiro, Trout, Yordon Alvarez. All guys I have respected or liked from afar. Teams usually have that one guy.

I personally hope this move works out for Trout. He is a good guy, and baseball is more fun when he is on the diamond playing good baseball.

It will be interesting to watch and see how he takes to the new position during the spring. I have a feeling he will be just fine and work hard to be the best right fielder he can be.

“I talked to talk to a few guys, and I’ll talk to Torii when he gets here because he did it,” Trout said. “There’s a lot of guys that move to right field that I’m gonna talk to. Just see the difference and just go out there and get comfortable in spring.”
