How Can Man City Salvage A Lost Season?

Manchester City’s 2024-2025 season has been lost for a while. That’s a feeling that City fans and personnel alike aren’t used to hearing.

After having run through the Premier League four years in a row, this season has seen a form that has been the worst under Pep Guardiola.

However, despite all of that, there still may be something to salvage in the final matches of a disappointing year.

After falling behind 2-0 at home to Crystal Palace, the Cityzens stormed back to score five unanswered and win 5-2.

With the win, City now sits 4th in the Premier League table, with the league being awarded five Champions League spots.

As just six league games remain, City controls their destiny to qualify for their 15th consecutive Champions League.

Qualifying for the Champions League would be a huge success for Guardiola’s squad after the nightmares of this season.

However, that’s not all the Cityzens are playing for as the summer months near.

On April 27th, City will return to Wembley Stadium once again to take on Nottingham Forest in the semi-final of the FA Cup.

If City can get a victory in that game and then defeat either Palace or Aston Villa in the final, they would secure their 8th FA Cup.

Combine that with a spot in next season’s Champions League, and all of a sudden, City could somewhat salvage one of their worst seasons in recent history.
