In one week, it is fully expected that Paige Buckers will be an official member of the Dallas Wings.
2025’s WNBA Draft which takes place next Monday in New York will be a continuation of momentum for the league after it’s huge success at last spring’s draft.
Much like it will for the league, for people in the DFW metroplex, the night will represent a newfound WNBA hope that has never been seen before.
When new Wings GM Curt Miller turns in his first draft card in Dallas, the franchise will have its biggest name since moving to the metroplex in 2016.
After leading Uconn to a national championship, breaking a nearly decade championship drought for women’s college basketball’s most storied program, Bueckers will turn her attention to another drought.
Dallas has yet to win a WNBA title since moving to the metroplex in 2016, however, the organization is signaling that they are ready to turn the corner into one of the league’s elite franchises.
Starting in 2026, the Wings play at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center’s Dallas Memorial Auditorium, moving on from the College Park Center on the campus of UTA.
In addition to the new arena, the Wings will unveil a new practice facility in the downtown Dallas area.
When the new change does happen, Bueckers will be at the forefront of it, looking to help take the Wings to places never seen before.
