Early-Season NL Power Rankings

The MLB season is well underway and teams are beginning to show what they will be over the course of the season.

Just two weeks in, many teams have stepped up to the plate and are putting together streaks that give a little cushion moving forward. Of course, in a 162-game schedule, things can change on a dime in baseball.

The National League has been as good as advertised early in the season. It was expected that there would be many teams battling for postseason spots as the league’s best teams are featured in the league.

Right now, it looks that way. Check out the early-season NL power rankings:

1. Los Angeles Dodgers: Is anyone surprised? The Dodgers began the season 8-0 and despite a mini slump, remain the team to beat in the entire league, not just the National.

2. San Diego Padres: The Padres put together three-consecutive shutouts over the weekend. The pitching has been one of the early-season stories in the league to go with a strong lineup. San Diego is keeping pace with L.A. in the NL West.

3. New York Mets: Juan Soto is not right just yet. The Mets offense is struggling as a whole and the team is still 11-5, taking advantage of a light schedule early on.

4. Philadelphia Phillies: The Phillies have been inconsistent once again but the lineup is as deep as ever. Now, it is about getting production beyond Bryce Harper.

5. Chicago Cubs: Kyle Tucker is looking like the next massive contract coming in baseball. He is mashing in his contract year and is making an early run at the NL MVP award.

6. San Francisco Giants: The Giants have been the surprise in baseball thus far. Wilmer Flores leads the Majors in home runs and is second in RBI. If this continues, the Giants could also be in the mixi n the NL West.

7. Arizona Diamondbacks: Corbin Burnes has been a major boost for the D’Backs this season. Pitching was the key coming in and having a legitimate ace at the top has helped.

8. Milwaukee Brewers: Milwaukee had the worst start to the season you will ever see. Jose Quintana has righted the ship and the Brewers are back in the middle of the pack.

9. Cincinnati Reds: The Reds are currently second in the league in starters ERA at 2.68. Pair this with Elly De La Cruz in the field and there could be some wins coming for the Reds.

10. Atlanta Braves: The Braves are hurt and the players that are healthy are not performing. Michael Harris II continues to struggle at the dish. There are reinforcements coming for Atlanta but the start has been troublesome.

11. St. Louis Cardinals: The Cardinals are what they are this season. Nolan Arenado was not moved and it could be a trade deadline decision in another lost year.

12. Washington Nationals: The young talent for the Nationals will keep the team feisty this season. James Wood is looking like the next superstar this league has to offer.

13. Miami Marlins: No fans in the building, trading away prime prospects. Just business as usual for the Marlins here in 2025.

14. Pittsburgh Pirates: Paul Skenes aside, the Pirates have been difficult to watch early on and it is led by a shoddy bullpen.

15. Colorado Rockies: Kris Bryant is hitting below .180. Colorado does not have much to look forward to here.
