Cavs Win Streak Ends, Lose to Magic, 108-103
On Sunday March 16th at 1pm eastern time, the 56-10 Cleveland Cavaliers hosted the 31-37 Orlando Magic at the Rocket Arena in downtown Cleveland Ohio. The Cavaliers last game was a 133-124 road win over the Memphis Grizzlies last Friday. The Magic’s last game was a 118-111 loss at the Minnesota Timberwolves last Friday as well. Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley were listed as questionable for the Cavaliers. Mitchell played in this game, but Mobley did not play that afternoon. Out for the Magic was Jalen Suggs and Mac McClung. The Cavaliers were trying for their 57th win of the season and their 17th win in a row.
In the first quarter the Cavaliers outplayed the Magic and led 38-25 at the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter the Magic fought back to tie the game. But the Cavaliers pulled back ahead and led at halftime 60-47. In the third quarter the Magic battled back and took the lead. But after three quarters of play the Cavaliers led 83-82. In the fourth and final quarter the Magic pulled ahead of the Cavaliers and pulled off an upset victory 108-103. The Cavaliers win streak ended at 16 games.
The Cavaliers’ leading scorer was Donovan Mitchell with 23 points in 34 minutes. Jarrett Allen had a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds in 32 minutes of play. Up next for the 56-11 Cleveland Cavaliers is a trip to Los Angeles California to play the 37-30 Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday March 18th at 10:30 pm eastern time, at the Intuit Dome. This will begin a brutal 5 game west coast trip. And it will be a big test for this Cavaliers team. A test that they can surely pass.
