Baseball Bets: Saturday Hoping to Build off Fridays Momentum

Brady Singer 6+ Strikeouts (-105)

Brady Singer had a debut that will go down in Cincinnati Reds History. He pitched seven scoreless innings, has eight strikeouts, and is rocking a lovely 0.43 WHIP. Not bad for your first start as a Red. The strikeouts will play a key role in this matchup given their opponent.

The Milwaukee Brewers have shown their offense in this series to start. However, they have a bit of a strikeout problem, striking out 25.8% of the time (7th most) and their 77 strikeouts are the fifth most in baseball. If Singer carries that first start into this one, having 6+ strikeouts is a no brainer in my opinion.

Lars Nootbaar 2+ Total Bases (+125)

Do not look now, but the St. Louis Cardinals have an offense that is not to be messed with to start the season. They hit the ball extremely well, put the ball in play, and can score. One player that has been stellar to begin the season is Lars Nootbaar. Him being a lock for 2+ total bases sounds lovely.

Nootbaar is 12-29 to begin the season, which is extremely impressive. Of his 12 hits, three have gone for extra bases. He gets on base, even if it’s two singles. It’s certainly not a bad bet to make and definitely for a player that has been as good at the plate as he has been.

Rafael Devers over 0.5 Walks (-140)

This is a new one, but something worth making a pick on. Everyone knows the historic start Rafael Devers has had to the season. However, what he has been doing is seeing the ball well and not chasing pitches outside the zone. While he may be getting the whiffs on pitches inside the zone, he is working counts and generating walks.

Devers has seven walks in the last six games and also had two walks in yesterday’s game before finally getting his first hit. Devers ranks in the 91st percentile for his walk rate, which is huge. Book it for this game.
