AEW Dynamite: Death Riders Return to Rescue Jon Moxley’s World Title

Jon Moxley’s Death Riders came back just in time to help him beat Cope last night to retain the AEW World title on Dynamite.

This was a rematch from Revolution, and it was a street fight. In fact, Moxley came out of the blizzard conditions in Omaha, and Cope attacked him before he could get to the ring.

Cope used his nail-covered board, Spike, and it actually got stuck in Moxley’s back in a gruesome scene.

Wheeler Yuta, Pac, Claudio Castagnoli, and Marina Shafir came to help the champion. Willow Nightingale and FTR evened the odds.

Then something strange happened. Kip Sabian and Nick Wayne also helped Moxley, even though the leader of the Patriarchy, Christian Cage, wasn’t there.

The extra interference allowed Moxley to lock in the Bulldog Choke and retain the championship.

TWO WINNERS

Speedball Mike Bailey and Ricochet will both challenge Kenny Omega for the International title at the Dynasty pay-per-view on April 6.

They opened the show in a four-way match against Orange Cassidy and Mark Davis.

Speedball pinned Davis with a backslide, but Ricochet piled on with his feet on the ropes and shared the pinfall victory.

Will Ospreay defeated AR Fox with the Hidden Blade.

Hangman Adam Page, like Ospreay, said he want to win the Owen Hart Cup and challenge for the World title at All In Texas in July.

WOMEN’S ACTION

Megan Bayne continued her monster run by defeating Kris Statlander. Timeless Toni Storm, who was on commentary, agreed to put the AEW women’s title on the line against “The Megasus” at Dynasty.

Mercedes Mone retained the TBS title in an outstanding match against 20-year-old prodigy Billie Starkz. Mone won by submission with the Statement Maker crossface hold.

DOUBLE COLLISION

Collision will be split into a pair of hour-long blocks this weekend, airing after March Madness basketball.

Daniel Garcia will defend the TNT title against Adam Cole on Slam Dunk Saturday. The Death Riders will defend the AEW trios title against Top Flight & AR Fox on Slam Dunk Sunday.
