AEW Dynamite: Cope Gets Shot at World Title By Threatening to Destroy It

“The Rated-R Superstar” Cope has often been called “The Ultimate Opportunist” during his career.

He lived up to that moniker last night on Dynamite when he got Jon Moxley to accept his challenge for a World title match at the Revolution pay-per-view on March 9.

Cope and Jay White stole the title early in the show from Marina Shafir. She had been handcuffed to the briefcase containing the belt, but White used a pair of bolt cutters.

At the end of the show, Cope threated to bash the briefcase with “Spike,” a 2×4 board with nails in it. Moxley came out and agreed to the title match.

The Death Riders brawled with Cope & White before regaining control of the briefcase.

This leads to the Brisbane Brawl on Saturday’s Grand Slam Australia show, as Cope & White will face Moxley & Claudio Castagnoli).

MJF VS. HANGMAN IS COMING

Hangman Adam Page opened the show by answering Max Caster’s “Best Wrestler Alive” Challenge. Hangman won quickly with the Buckshot Lariat.

MJF and Page had a backstage confrontation before MJF’s victory over Dustin Rhodes with the Crossface.

MJF continued to attack Dustin after the match. Hangman came out and brawled with MJF all over the building
