AEW Collision: Post-NBA Playoff Show Starts Quickly with Swerve Strickland Match
Swerve Strickland came out to talk at the start of AEW Collision last night, which came on right after the NBA playoffs.
However, The Young Bucks used their “Executive VP” powers to make him wrestle immediately.
Despite not wearing his wrestling gear, Swerve defeated Blake Christian.
The Bucks launched a post-match attack, but Kenny Omega made the save.
This is leading to an eight-man “All-Star” match on Dynamite this Wednesday. Omega, Mark Briscoe, Speedball Mike Bailey & Kevin Knight will face The Young Bucks, Kazuchika Okada & Ricochet.
SHE IS TIMELESS
Toni Storm won a non-title match against Queen Aminata, who put up a great fight. The AEW women’s champion prevailed with a Storm Zero piledriver.
Max Caster issued another “Best Wrestler Alive” open challenge, and he lost again. Hologram scored a quick win with the Portal Bomb to remain undefeated.
BREAK OUT THE BEADS
Top Flight (Dante & Darius Martin) battled Cru (Lio Rush & Action Andretti) in a tornado match. That usually means no tags are necessary, but it quickly turned into a hardcore match.
The New Orleans fans popped when Top Flight used a bag of Mardi Gras beads as a weapon. Cru rallied to win after a springboard 450 splash by Andretti.
Anna Jay won a quick match over Taylor Gainey. Penelope Ford and Megan Bayne attacked Jay after the match.
THE OTHER LUCHA BROTHERS
Bandido defeated Dralistico to retain the Ring Of Honor championship. Dralistico’s brother, Rush, had more success by defeating AR Fox.
FTR beat Kyle O’Reilly & Roderick Strong in the main event. Stokely Hathaway is the new manager of FTR.
In addition to the All-Star match, Dynamite will feature the Owen Hart Cup semifinal match between “Hangman” Adam Page and Kyle Fletcher.
Will Ospreay will face the winner for the Cup at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view on May 25.
