Ballpark Bets: The Yankee Way on a Monday!
Yankees ML (-130)
This one is a sure lock. Sugano has been not bad in terms of his ERA (3.54), but he struggles to generate the swing and miss, ranks in the 1st percentile for strikeout rate and 2nd in walk rate, which is not ideal against this Yankees lineup.
The Yankees offense is cooking. They are seventh in doubles, have hit the most home runs, and fourth in RBI’s. Furthermore, they are second in average and first in both OBP and slugging. Oof. Good luck.
The Orioles offense has been slacking, ranking in the bottom ten in almost every category and their pitching has been a problem. No Devin Williams? That’s okay, there is Luke Weaver.
Will Warren over 4.5 strikeouts (-115)
I like this. The Orioles offense had a very tough weekend against the Tigers and struck out quite a bit. They sit 16th in strikeouts, which isn’t great given the talent on that roster.
In 20 innings pitched, Warren has 21 strikeouts. He ranks in the 63rd percentile for strikeout rate and 70th for whiff rate. The Orioles will look to be better at home, but I like at least five for Warren.
Aaron Judge HR (+170)
Aaron Judge is a lock almost on any given night to hit one out of the park. Now he gets the luxury of heading to Camden Yards. Judge has been a menace against the Orioles in his career. In 107 games, Judge has 45 home runs and 96 RBI’s. The best part? 24 of those 45 home runs have come inside Camden Yards.
We’ve talked about Sugano and this sounds like a great game where Judge performs and gets the best of the pitcher.
