2025 NFL Draft: Top Suitors For Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart

Every year, there is one player that shoots up NFL Draft boards ahead of the big night. Over the last few weeks, that has been Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart.

This is viewed as a light quarterback draft with Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders at the forefront. In recent weeks, Dart has become a darling of the draft while others are falling a bit in projections.

Dart has played a lot of football in his career. He spent four years as the starter in Oxford. Last year, he put up his best numbers with 4,279 passing yards and 29 touchdowns to just six interceptions.

Below, check out three teams that could be in on Dart on Thursday night.

3. Los Angeles Rams

The Los Angeles Rams are an intriguing team on this list. Head coach Sean McVay did not seem high on adding a quarterback early but if Dart falls further than expected, this could be an option. The Rams’ quarterback room is led by Matthew Stafford, who returned this offseason. The Rams could be looking for the next star under center to sit behind Stafford and learn his craft. It does not hurt to have a Super Bowl winning, genius offensive mind like McVay either.

2. Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns should be open to all options under center. The Deshaun-Watson experiment will go down as the worst contract in sports history. At this point, the quarterbacks on the team are Kenny Pickett and Joe Flacco. Unless Cleveland wants to give Pickett another shot as a starter, the draft could be a spot to find an upgrade. The Browns would be foolish to draft a quarterback with the No. 2 overall pick. This is a spot to add either Travis Hunter or Abdul Carter. This leaves the option open to trade back into the first round. Perhaps a team like the Washington Commanders at No. 29 will be willing to move down and the Browns could nab Dart.

1. Pittsburgh Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers do not have a quarterback. Russell Wilson and Justin Fields are both in New York. Pittsburgh remains patient in letting Aaron Rodgers make his final decision on his future but reinforcements should be coming. Mason Rudolph is back with the Steelers but this is not an option to start for a win-now team. The Steelers made a big splash to acquire DK Metcalf in the offseason to pair with George Pickens. Dart is a dynamic quarterback that would add a spark to the offense.
