Rockets Set For Another Playoff Showdown With Warriors
Familiar foe, we meet once again.
Last night, the Houston Rockets sat at home watching the Play-in game between the Memphis Grizzlies and Golden State Warriors to determine their first-round opponent.
Behind some familiar heroics from Steph Curry, the Warriors took down the Grizzlies 121-116, setting up a date with Houston in the first round.
During the regular season, the Rockets and Warriors played five times, with Houston dropping three of the five meetings.
Most notable was the NBA Cup quarterfinals when Houston took a one-point victory, 91-90, to secure a spot in Las Vegas at the semi-finals.
The postseason action begins on Sunday at 8:30 PM CST as the Rockets will play their first playoff game at the Toyota Center for the first time since 2019.
The remainder of the schedule is as follows.
Game 2: Warriors at Rockets, Wed., April 23 (9:30 p.m., TNT)
Game 3: Rockets at Warriors, Sat., April 26 (8:30 p.m., ABC)
Game 4: Rockets at Warriors, Mon., April 28 (10 p.m., TNT)
Game 5: Warriors at Rockets, Wed., April 30 (TBA)*
Game 6: Rockets at Warriors, Fri., May 2 (TBA)*
Game 7: Warriors at Rockets, Sun., May 4 (TBA)*
With a series win, the Rockets will eliminate the Warriors from the postseason for the first time in franchise history.
Golden State has won each of the previous four playoff meetings against Houston in 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2019.
