WWE Raw in London: John Cena Turns His Attention to Cody Rhodes
After insulting the wrestling fans for two weeks, John Cena directed his insults to his WrestleMania 41 opponent, Cody Rhodes.
Cena called Rhodes mediocre and “his chauffeur,” referencing their times on the road together. He also called the WWE champion “a pathetic nepo baby.”
Rhodes said Vince McMahon chose Cena to be champion, creating so much unrest among wrestling fans that Rhodes was able to help start All Elite Wrestling in 2019.
Cena countered with a reference to AEW boss Tony Khan: “I create empires for billionaires. All you’ve ever done is steal money from their kids.”
The confrontation ended with Cody hitting the Cross Rhodes on Cena.
BLOOD BROTHERS
Jimmy Uso tried to soften up World champion Gunther for his brother, Jey Uso. His plan failed miserably.
Gunther won with a sleeper hold and attacked both Usos after the match. He zip-tied Jey to ropes and busted Jimmy open with the title belt.
IC TITLE SCENE
Penta teamed up with Intercontinental champion Bron Breakker to face The Judgment Day duo of Finn Balor & Dominik Mysterio.
Breakker accidentally speared Penta, and Balor hit the Coup de Grace stomp from the top rope to hand Penta his first pinfall loss.
Tyler Bate returned to action in front of his fans in London, teaming with countryman Pete Dunne as New Catch Republic. However, they lost to The New Day.
ME, A REFEREE?
Last week, Bianca Belair doubted her ability to serve as special referee in the World women’s title match between Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley.
Well, she was right.
Ripley wiped out Belair by tossing the champion into her. Later, Sky accidentally dropkicked Belair out of the ring. Bianca called for a double-disqualification.
This is leading to a Triple Threat match for the title at WrestleMania 41.
