Baseball Bets: Saturday March 29

It’s another great day for baseball. Jeffrey Springs had a strong debut, Mookie Betts had a big walk off home run, and Eugenio Suarez joined a short list in Diamondbacks history. Yesterday’s article went 3-1, so let’s see if we can go undefeated today.

Roki Sasaki Over 3.5 Strikeouts (-130)

Well, this seems low. Now he did have three strikeouts in his opening start in Japan against the Cubs. That outing was not bad necessarily, but he did lose some control and his velocity dropped as the outing went on. However, Sasaki is a lethal pitcher and striking out four batters should not be a challenge.

Sasaki brings a mean velocity with his fastball and his splitter is almost untouchable. Last night we saw Yoshinobu Yamamoto punch out ten batters, despite giving up a pair of home runs. Both bring similar pitches to the table, so I will bet on the success of Sasaki with the line being set where it is.

Lock it in. Lock it in.

Jarren Duran Over 0.5 Stolen Bases (+330)

Is there a better weapon on the base paths than Jarren Duran? I mean yes there is Shohei Ohtani who stole over 50 and that’s not including Elly De La Cruz as well. But Duran is the perfect lead off bat for the Red Sox and will look to steal a base in this game.

In two games played, Duran has stolen a base in each of them. His one in the second game he stole with ease. With him being able to do this, it allows the Red Sox to have runners in scoring position and be put in position to have success.

He has been better than batters 2-5 this series and if he gets on base, stealing a base isn’t out of the question.

Aaron Judge HR (+165)

Baseball can be poetic. Today’s matchup will see former Yankee Nestor Cortes take the mound for the first time since the trade that went down this winter. The lefty will get the luxury of facing Aaron Judge and that won’t be an easy task.

Judge was a machine against left handed pitching last season. Judge went on to have a .311 batting average, while slugging .735 and with a towering OPS of 1.240. He had 16 home runs come off lefties last season and was also a doubles machine, so a lock for 2+ total bases should also be in play.

After a day off, the Bronx will be ready and rocking for this afternoon tilt.
