Rockets Close Road Trip With Win Over Pelicans

The Houston Rockets finally got back into the win column on the final night of their lengthy road swing.

Houston took down the New Orleans Pelicans 109-97 on Thursday night at the Smoothie King Center.

With the win, the Rockets snapped their three-game losing streak and their season-long eight-game road losing streak.

It was strong performances from the duo of Amen Thompson and Alperen Sengun that led the way for Houston.

Sengun led all Rockets scorers with 22 points, but it was his all-around game that stood out. He also grabbed 6 rebounds and fished out 8 assists while grabbing three steals and a block.

Thompson finished with 21 points and a strong 11 rebounds, with two assists and a block to go with it.

Tari Eason got the start and made the most of it as he dropped 20 points with a sensational 5 steals.

Dillion Brooks was the other Rockets starter in double figures as he scored 14 points on just 9 shots.

Off the bench, Jabari Smith Jr was the lone Rocket in double figures as he knocked 16 points and 5 rebounds.

Houston returns home for a lengthy six-game home stand, which starts on Saturday when they take on these same Pelicans.
