NFL Offseason Wish Lists: NFC North
The 2024 NFL Season is over, and the 2025 Offseason is in full swing! It’s an exciting time for fans and franchises alike as new hope dawns with the records reset for all 32 squads. With that in mind, I want to do a series looking at all 32 teams “Offseason Wish Lists” with a special look at how each team will attack the new league year and how they will use the various methods of adding talent to best prepare their rosters for 2025.
We’ll break it down by division over the coming days. We’ve already looked at the East and South Divisions in both Conferences. Up next, the best division in football. The NFC North:

DETROIT LIONS
2024 Result: 15-2 Reg. Season, Lost in NFC Divisional Round
Biggest Needs: Edge, WR, CB
1st Round Draft Slot: 28th Overall
Proj. 2025 Cap Space: $48.9M
Detroit’s injury-riddled 2024 season highlighted their desperate need for pass rush help opposite and behind all-world edge defender Aiden Hutchinson. Adding multiple dynamic edge rushers to the roster this offseason is priority number 1. After that, adding help at WR alongside Amon-Ra St. Brown could elevate one of the league’s best offenses even more. Secondary help is always needed it seems in Detroit, even though they have addressed the back end of the defense significantly over the last couple years.
MINNESOTA VIKINGS
2024 Result: 14-3 Reg. Season, Lost in NFC Wild Card Round
Biggest Needs: CB, DT, RB
1st Round Draft Slot: 24th Overall
Proj. 2025 Cap Space: $62.2M
The Vikings offseason wish-list starts at Cornerback, where the team is looking at losing almost their entire room to Free Agency this offseason. Adding high-level coverage men for Brian Flores’ defense is their biggest need, followed closely by their need for help along the defensive interior, specifically a pocket pusher with pass rush upside in the middle of the defense. With Aaron Jones a Free Agent and not much behind him, Minnesota will no doubt look to take advantage of this deep RB Draft Class.
GREEN BAY PACKERS
2024 Result: 11-6 Reg. Season, Lost in NFC Wild Card Round
Biggest Needs: CB, Edge, WR
1st Round Draft Slot: 23rd Overall
Proj. 2025 Cap Space: $38.2M
The Packers don’t boast an overloaded pocketbook of cap space heading into this offseason, but they have enough cash and Draft Capital to really improve their roster to keep up with Detroit and Minnesota this offseason. For me, it starts with the Cornerback room, where Jaire Alexander and Eric Stokes appear to be heading for other opportunities in 2025. It’s a deep CB group in Free Agency, and there are some great early round options in the draft to address the issue. After that, adding pass rush help and maybe making a splash at WR would help improve an already good team this offseason.
CHICAGO BEARS
2024 Result: 5-12 Reg. Season, Missed Playoffs
Biggest Needs: OL, Edge, CB
1st Round Draft Slot: 10th Overall
Proj. 2025 Cap Space: $45.3M
They’re already making big moves to fill their biggest needs, with trades for impact O-linemen already hitting the books, but they still need more help. Adding a good Center and another OT is important, and fortunately, the NFL Draft has plenty of solid options that should be available for early selections. The Bears also need help at Edge, as well as CB, where poor play greatly affected the defense’s ability to keep opposing offenses in check especially down the stretch of the season.
