The WWE Elimination Chamber is coming up tonight, but The Rock has already stolen the show by asking WWE champion Cody Rhodes to “sell his soul” to him.

Cody listened to advice from wrestlers last night on Smackdown about whether he should take the easy road and become “The Rock’s Champion.”

It sounds a lot like Ted DiBiase offering to buy the WWF title from Hulk Hogan back in 1987. Cody is supposed to give his answer tonight.

TIFFY and TRISHY TIME

Trish Stratus opened the show by greeting her hometown fans in Toronto. She was joined by WWE women’s champion Tiffany Stratton, who will be her tag team partner tonight.

Stratton defeated women’s US champion Chelsea Green by disqualification. Nia Jax & Candice LeRae attacked Stratton & Stratus in advance of their match tonight.

Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens talked about their longtime friendship and how badly they will hurt each other during tonight’s unsanctioned grudge match.

TITLE SHOT TOURNAMENT

Smackdown General Manager Nick Aldis set up a six-man, one-night tournament for a shot at Shinsuke Nakamura’s US title.

Jacob Fatu, who is starting to become very popular, defeated Andrade with a triple-jump moonsault.

LA Knight defeated Santos Escobar with the BFT (Blunt Force Trauma).

Carmelo Hayes beat Braun Strowman by pulling one of Eddy Guerrero’s old tricks. Hayes threw a chair into Braun’s hands and fell down. The referee disqualified Strowman.

Knight won the final match to earn the title shot. Fatu hit the moonsault onto Hayes, but Knight pulled Fatu off and stole the pin.

TALKING AND BRAWLING

The Street Profits were supposed to wrestle Los Garza, but a larger brawl erupted that included #DIY, Motor City Machine Guns, and Pretty Deadly.

The competitors in the men’s Elimination Chamber talked about tonight’s match for a title shot at Cody Rhodes. The exception was John Cena. Logan Paul fooled everyone by coming out to John Cena’s music.

The women’s Chamber participants warmed up by having a match. Liv Morgan, Roxanne Perez, and Rodriguez defeated Naomi, Bayley & Bianca Belair.

Perez pinned Bayley after hitting the high-speed sunset flip (Pop Rox).
