March is right around the corner, ladies and gentlemen, which means that College Basketball is about to take center-stage over every other sport. For the next month and a half, we as sports fans will be gearing up for the INSANITY that is March Madness. It doesn’t matter if it’s the names in the games, the traditions, or even the games themselves; the world is about to be FULLY-ENTRANCED in the beauty of college basketball.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! But heading into March, it looks like one program will have a new uniform hanging in it’s lockers. It looks like one program will be rocking a new set of threads that are…well…questionable, at best!

Texas A&M, the 8th ranked team in the nation who has a 19-5 record as of writing this, shocked the world with a new alternate uniform yesterday on social media. For YEARS, this team has put out BEAUTIFUL uniforms for their basketball team, that have shown off the great tradition of the school and the program as a whole. Whether it’s the classic maroon away jerseys, or even the cursive ‘Aggies‘ alternates; this team has always leaned towards the beauty and the traditions of the institution.

They have! I have always been happy with A&M’s uniforms, and how they presented themselves on the court. But THIS?!? This has to be one of the most disgusting uniforms that I’ve ever seen in my entire life. The simplicity of the jersey, which looks like a toddler just slapped letter/number magnets onto a refrigerator, has to be one of the ugliest garments in the history of college athletics.

There’s nothing special about it. There’s NO PART of that uniform that screams “cool,” or anything like that. HELL; if anything, this is just going to be one of those pieces of merch that will NOT MOVE from the campus bookstore. This will be that one jersey, or that one shirt, that will sit and collect dust on the racks while students laugh and make jokes about it.

The worst part about it though…is that this is not the only iteration of this “style” of jersey. NO! Apparently, the folks at Adidas did the Nebraska Cornhuskers dirty too, by making them wear this ABOMINATION!

I just….I just hate this so much. I get it; schools need different “designs” and whatnot, to try and sell more merch. But when clothing companies try to get too “artsy” and “different” with this stuff……it just looks sad. It just looks sad, and it looks like something that will end up in the “bargain bin” by the end of the season.

Hopefully the Aggies aren’t seriously considering keeping this look. But in the end, as always…..what do I know? I’m just a guy from the Midwest, with a beer and a laptop, trying to make sense of this world.
