Dallas Wings Roster Starts To Take Form

While many other teams across the WNBA have started to revamp and reshape their roster, the Dallas Wings were waiting for their time to jump in and make a move.

Safe to say, they found their time as new Wings GM Curt Miller has gotten to work and the Dallas roster is starting to take shape.

Miller completed a massive four-team trade that will see some of the Wings’ well-known names head elsewhere in exchange for much of the group that hopes to lead Dallas back to the postseason.

2020 number two overall pick Satou Sabally headlines a group of departed Wings which includes Kalani Brown, Sevgi Uzun, Jayelyn Brown, and last year’s number five overall pick Jacy Sheldon.

Dallas will acquire DiJonai Carrington, Tyasha Harris, NaLyssa Smith, reserved rights of Mikiah Herbert Harrigan, No. 12 pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft, and future pick swaps.

Carrington is no doubt the premier return of the trade as she was named 2024’s WNBA most improved player after putting up career highs in points (12.7), rebounds (5.0), assists (1.6), steals (1.6) and blocks (0.4).

Returning to the Wings will be Ty Harris who was drafted by Dallas back in 2020. Harris had the best season of her career last year in Connecticut averaging 10.5 points and 3.0 assists.

Smith will be coming over from the Indiana Fever where she averaged 10.6 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks in 2024.

In 2022, Smith was an all-rookie selection as she has averaged double-digit points in each of her first three seasons.

Herbert Harrigan averaged just 3.2 points and 1.5 rebounds in 2024 but currently playing for Maccabi Ironi Ramat Gan in Israel she is averaging 18.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks per game.

Dallas also snagged free-agent Myisha Hines-Allen who was a key reserve on the Minnesota Lynx final team this season.

The Wings will open their 2025 season on May 16th when they take on the Minnesota Lynx at the College Park Center.
