3 Hypothetical Trade Destinations For Dak Prescott

The Dallas Cowboys made a trade on Thursday to acquire Joe Milton from the New England Patriots.

Milton was acquired to be the backup Dak Prescott moving forward. The Cowboys extended Prescott before the season and has committed to him even longer. Milton impressed during the season finale and it brought the idea to many teams to reach out to New England.

In the end, it was the Cowboys acquiring a backup quarterback via trade for the second time in the offseason. Dallas recently acquired Trey Lance from the San Francisco 49ers as well.

For the record, Prescott is not going to be traded. The idea has been floated around but it is not realistic. We can still have fun with the idea and name the three top destinations.

3. New Orleans Saints

The New Orleans Saints have been in purgatory at the quarterback position. Derek Carr is still in town but that does not seem like a legitimate long-term plan. Kellen Moore came over to be the head coach and could have a quarterback that he is familiar going up against from the NFC East. The Saints are low on this list because they are in the NFC. There are other options outside of the conference that the Cowboys could ultimately choose whenever the day gets here.

2. Indianapolis Colts

Much like the Saints, the Colts have been looking for that next answer at quarterback. The swing and a miss on Anthony Richardson will come back to haunt the team. The Colts have been linked to Aaron Rodgers in the offseason. Prescott would provide a longer-term plan that could bring consistency under center. The Colts added Daniel Jones to compete with Richardson. It is clear over the last few years that the regime does not believe in his long term so all options are open.

1. Cleveland Browns

The Browns are the team that started this hypothetical trade situation. There is no team in the NFL that needs an answer under center more than Cleveland. Jameis Winston is gone. Deshaun Watson’s contract is looking like the worst in NFL history. It looks like the Browns will not use the No. 2 overall pick on a quarterback, which is the right move as Cleveland will get an elite player elsewhere needed. This opens the door to many opportunities at quarterback. It would be incredible to see Prescott be the answer in Cleveland moving forward.
