3 Best Fits For Myles Garrett In A Trade With Cleveland Browns
Myles Garrett has been one of the best defensive players in the NFL since coming into the league.
Garrett has spent his entire career in Cleveland but has expressed interest in finding a new home that is ready to win right away.
Garrett has had double-digit sacks in all but one season of his career. He has totaled 14 or more in each of the last four and has 102.5 for his career. Garrett will be a difference-maker that will help any team he comes to, if the Browns are willing to trade him.
If a deal can be reached, and the asking price will likely be astronomical, these three teams could be fits for Garrett and his wants.
3. Detroit Lions
The Lions displayed an elite defense before being ravished by injuries over the course of the season. This includes Aidan Hutchinson, who had 7.5 sacks through just five game before suffering a season-ending leg injury. A depleted defense got torched in the Divisional Round and Detroit’s season ended abruptly. The front office could be looking to add another defensive star to help slow down the elite quarterback play in the NFC. A defensive line with Garrett and Hutchinson on the edges immediately becomes tops in the league.
2. Philadelphia Eagles
Howie Roseman has built a winner in Philadelphia and it is due to his lack of hesitation when going after the biggest fish available. Could Garrett be the next on the list? Roseman has built a dominant defensive line through the draft with Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis in the middle. Carter is arguably the best interior defensive lineman in the league right now. Add Garrett on the outside and the Eagles No. 1 defense in the league will get even better.
1. Washington Commanders
Who would have thought we’d be discussing Washington at the top of a list involving an elite pass rusher wanting to go to a team ready to win right now? Here we are. The Commanders are coming off an NFC Championship Game appearance led by rookie Jayden Daniels. The Commanders seem to have the quarterback position set and now it is about shoring up the defense. Washington traded away both Chase Young and Montez Sweat last year. The edge rushers were serviceable this year but remain a major need for a Dan Quinn led defense. Garrett could be a complete game-changer for Washington as it looks to continue to compete in the NFC.
